Really beautiful, as always. I have come to rely on writing in similar ways. I understand that, even as I want to share my work and give it a chance in the world, it's not my reason for writing. I will write anyway, whether one person or 100 read my work. I must, to make sense of my world. Your honesty and vulnerability make your words powerful. Thank you for sharing, Mo.
Mo- you write for me! Bless you. In your words I find my own. A mirror. Same age. Same ideals. Same quest. Your words never fall on deaf ears. Worth something money cannot buy. Your words create meaning. They are roads of soul. Bless you. THANK YOU 🙏❤️
This was timely for me. After 4 months of consistently writing an essay a week, I broke my rhythm. I needed the reminder that to write is to get in touch with your higher self. Thank you for sharing so generously.
I could relate to your piece on so many levels, Mo!
Writing is a purification process of the ego. For some, it could be just bird-watching. But for us, it is writing (and music).
Well, you summed up your response quite aptly in the last line. I wonder why didn't it occur to you on the spot when your friend had asked the question. Why it took you some time (a week) to process the question and come up with the answer? Do you think an instant answer might have been more closer to the core?
I am asking because it has happened with me as well and even I was left wondering :)
I appreciate so much, Mo, the generosity of your self-examination, with this post and all. There’s zero shortage of writing on this platform dedicated to the building of a monetized arc, that deliberate process toward a certain figure income (fine and good and helpful to many).
But/and/also, there are just as many of us more interested in the creative, intellectual and spiritual journey that is writing AND freely sharing that writing. The former is one thing, the latter, something different entirely, yes?
I’m piqued by the question, nourished by your answer, and strongly believe in the importance of the process you’re championing.

I'm definitely one of the people for whom you write and so grateful for being a beneficiary of your thoughts and reflections.
