Beautiful Mo. Those small wins added up as moments over time is that sweet wine of existence. I’ve always struggled with happiness versus fulfilment. I’m starting to feel that we are happy, and we become unhappy. Fulfilment seems to be the harvest of the moments. I totally agree and resonate as everywhere I go I always have a book! Sometimes it’s a book on my phone, but I always have a book. Thanks again for another thoughtful and transformational article. 🙏❤️
Another soulful essay; your mind is in a good place 🩵
Love that you tied the concept of taṇhā into it. I’d love to dive deeper into the “why” behind this concept. I.e., why does our finitude cause us to cling to moments?
Love this article Mo Isso , you write simply and honestly; .. I learned something ....the basic important things we often overlook in life and daily living ! Thanks for this .
Our senses are proof we showed up for any given moment. They also help anchor the moment into memory. If you take the time to truly savor and engage the senses in good moments, (those wins, for example ) in a way that feels good, your brain will help you seek those out for more joyful savoring... rather than those autopilot moments that fail to engage the moment and just move us forward to the next thing.
Happily ever after, is the continuous moments of happiness we cherish, such as time with friends, a good book, a glass of wine, as you suggest for yourself. These cherished moments amount to a fulfilling life among all the bumps on the way. Thank you for the reminder.
Ah yes the beauty of discovering we don't have to have a "tantrum" when things don't go our way. But to accept and go with the flow. It's a totally life changing/life enriching experience. I often find that when waiting in queues and lines myself. I can see the fury and discomfort in other's faces and body language. People make the situation even worse than it is by creating their own inner resistance to it. I try and create an opportunity from the situation now - to smell the roses, to read the book, to breathe... I only notice this as I was that infuriated person, and still am at times if I don't catch myself! It's such a waste of energy.
I was also going to write about appreciating the wins yesterday but went with something else. It is so important to sit in the glow of those small, but Big Everything, moments. Thanks Jo

Looking forward to following your journey
Jen, Yes, thanks. I'd like you also to dive deeper into that 'why.' I think it's our fear of death, ultimately.

I relate to so much here.
