I really enjoyed this framework of Telic and Atelic activities. It reminds me of a Zen quote: "There are two ways to wash the dishes. The first is to wash the dishes in order to have clean dishes and the second is to wash the dishes to wash the dishes."
Thank you, Mo. Personally, I don’t do goals. I used to. Now, I’m focused on each moment and seeing how it unfolds. Everyday for me it’s a rinse and repeat mostly focused on gratitude.
If you mean listless and meaningless then there is a problem. However I do believe that we are goal oriented but how you’d define goals would differ! Next week I’ll be writing on being goals. Using your example, maybe one can set an intention to be more grateful this year! That is a shift in how we want to be.
I absolutely agree, focus on your goals as part of your day to day process, small wins everyday cumulate in time 😊

Love the Zen quote. I will use it in many conversations. Thank you.

Thanks for your feedback. I think systems work way better, but goals help with motivation.
What happens if a person is not motivated? Some people are not even if they are goal oriented.

Yes, Mo! Exactly, being the goal. I set an intention, which I wrote about on my last post. For me this year is all about “freedom.”
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Good luck with your goals for the year, Mo.
Thank you, Harun!
