- Stories are a powerful way to instill values in your children upbringing. My parents will tell me a captivating story with Drama about someone else to stress a value or a set of values. It pushed me to reach an obvious conclusion without being talked down to. I found that more effective than the traditional DOs and DONTs approach to upbringing. I find myself using the same tactics with my children.
