Absolutely! Why is it that people always expect to step out of a busy (but no longer purposeful) life, in anticipation of stepping seamlessly into an equally busy life filled with purpose, all the right goals, exuberant joy and magic? This rarely happens.

When we shift gear and truly want to step into something new, the first 'thing' we must face is the void. The no-thing. The space where anything seems possible and the old must genuinely drop away.

Thanks for the reminder of Montaigne!

"Maybe, like Montaigne, I need to write down the chimaeras. To meet the monsters. To track the drift...."

Exactly. This is the path I intuitively chose (or was catapulted onto) three decades ago. Making friends with the nothing (and the inner monsters, demons, and dragons & co) has proven to be a most valuable and nourishing part of this journey. It's the inner dragons who guard the treasure. Always.

Wishing you safe inner travels. xx

Well said Mo. when there’s nothing, there’s nothing. When there’s everything there’s everything. Sometimes when there’s nothing there’s everything. Letting go of expectations is never easy especially with creativity. Thank you so much for sharing. I only live in to the questions. Sometimes a word here or there. A phrase. Sometimes the words I read here. Slowly turn into a deeper conversation. Keep writing. We need you. 🙏❤️
